I am Jeanine Balzan Engerer, Counsellor currently working at St. Aloysius College Sixth Form as a Resident Counsellor and a lecturer, as well as having my own practice at St Julian’s.
I am one of few counsellors who specializes in childhood and adolescence. Obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2012 from the, University of Malta, P.G.C.E in PSCD in 2013 and in 2018 I obtained a Masters Degree in Counselling from the University of Malta as well as a Certificate in Safeguarding Children and Adolescents from the University of Malta in 2021. Currently I am in the early stages of my Doctorate Degree focusing on youths aged 16 to 18.
I have several years of experience with children and adolescents through voluntary and professional work. My starting point is always client-centered, which encourages empowerment no matter the client’s age. Whilst maintaining professional boundaries, I strive to help bring a certain balance to the client’s current issues, as well as any relational strains in the family.
